Wikipedia By The Minute is a visual transposition of the english wikipedia's recent article changes. The resulting image is a one-to-one translation of the revision history, providing the viewer with a more holistic perspective on the community activity and growth of wikipedia as a whole.
The image is updated once a minute, with each row of pixels representing a minute worth of activity, the top being the most recent.
Each pixel in each row is a unique revision of an article, with its color indicating the direction of change (red a subtraction of content and green an addition) as well as brightness indicating amount of change. Bright white pixels are brand new articles.
The placement of pixels is sorted by the amount of change. The width of the row is determined by the sheer number of revisions executed within that minute.
